Immanuel Announcements - November 18
Council meets Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at the church.
Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at UCC Church in Carthage at 7:00 on Wednesday, November 21st! Everyone is welcome to attend.
All confirmation students are asked to attend a Thanksgiving Service, rather than confirmation class this week. If you do not attend the service in Carthage, please bring a bulletin from the service you attended.
Tom and Deanna Moeding were happy to announce this morning in church that David's last PET scan showed no spots. He will continue to do chemo once a month for awhile and will then reduce it to every couple of months. Such a great reason to celebrate!!!
There will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL next Sunday, Nov. 25 at Immanuel
Mark your calendars: On December 16th, the Immanuel Sunday School would like to invite the congregation to go caroling with them in Huron at the nursing homes and assisted living. More details will be announced soon!
Please keep the family of Deanna & Marion Dean in your prayers as they mourn the loss of his sister, Deanna Snyder.
If you are able, please donate to the victims of Hurricane Sandy, through ELCA Disaster Response. You may include this with your regular offering, but please mark it.
Looking to multiply your Christmas giving this year? Give your loved ones a gift from the ELCA GOOD GIFTS catalog. Gifts range from farm animal to health care to clean water, There is a catalog in the back of church or you can go online at www.elca.org/goodgifts or call 1-800-638-3522

Thank You for Donating!!
We had a very successful night. We started around 4:00 east
of the church and 61 miles later we finished in Huron a little after 7:00. We
received donations from over 30 families and everyone was so generous! The food
pantry was very excited to receive all of our donations. We were told that atleast
10 food baskets are passed out each day at the food pantry. After we unloaded
all the food the Captain gave us a tour of the Salvation Army. He showed us where
all of the donations are sorted before being put in the thrift store, the
thrift store, the tigers den, cafeteria and the chapel. He also told us all of
the different programs that the Salvation Army offers such as the Christmas
basket (Angel Tree).
They were as follows: 14 soups, 9 cans of fruit, 91 vegetables,
22 canned meat, 7 tuna, 16 bottles of honey, 1 peanut butter, 1 jelly, 2
pancake mixes, 2 syrups, 3 oatmeals, 5 cereals, 12 rice & pastas, 4
macaroni & cheese, 2 hamburger helper, 4 juices, 4 baby foods, 4 jellos, 5
stuffing mixes, 2 taco shells, 1 salad dressing, 1 stir fry sauce, 1 salsa, 2
spaghetti sauce, 1 boxed potatoes, 2 olives, 1 popcorn, 1 evaporated milk, 2
pie fillings, 1 box of Saltines, 1 can of pumpkin, 4 brownie mixes, 1 condensed
milk, 1 broth and monetary donations. They collected 215 items to earn a total
of 10600 scavenger hunt points (1925 more than last year) and are challenging
themselves to beat it again next year!
Thank you,
Keistan, Lauren, Gavin, Kyle, Jodi, Stephanie &
Michelle
