3rd Annual Christmas Hymn Sing will be Sunday, December 16th at 4:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran. Marti would love to work with you in preparing a musical treat to share. If you would like to sing or play your instrument, let her know. Also, bring a plate of goodies to pass. 

Supper & Fellowship Following Saturday Night Service

There will be supper and fellowship following the Saturday night service tomorrow night, December 1st. BBQ sandwiches will be provided so bring something to share for the rest of the meal. Sunday School is at 5:00 with church to follow at 6:00, weather permitting.

Angel Tree Shopping and Christmas Caroling

The Immanuel Sunday School kids want to adopt angels from the Angel Tree again this year! If you would like to donate money to help purchase gives you can give it to Jodi. We are hoping that each kid will be able to adopt two angels! We will be taking all the kids shopping on Saturday, December 8th to purchase the gifts and they will show everyone at church that Sunday what they picked out for their angels before delivering the gifts. We also applied for Thrivent Action Team dollars so will be receiving $250.00 to help purchase gifts. We hope that we will be able to buy twice as many gifts this year!! After shopping we will be going to Godfathers for dinner and then Christmas caroling. We will be meeting at 9:30 am inside the Huron Walmart Pharmacy doors to shop, will eat at Godfathers at 11:00 and then Christmas carol at Stoneybrook Suites at noon followed by caroling at Sunquest, Sunquest Village, Lenora's and Velda's. Everyone is welcome to join us on this fun adventure for just part of it or all of it...you won't regret joining us!! Feel free to contact Jodi if you have any questions!!

Saturday night services have started- Reminder when Immanuel is to have an 8:00 am service this winter the service will be held at 6:00 pm the night before with Sunday School prior at 5:00 and the 9:30 am services will be held at 9:00 am.

CPR Class—Thursday, November 15th Kaci Bechen will be teaching a CPR class on Thursday November 15th at 6:30pm at First Lutheran in Artesian. The cost of the class is $10 and is open to anyone 14 and up. Please call or text her to register 605-520-0720 (cell) 605-495-4349 (home). She is planning to do classes at Immanuel and Trinity in December and January.

ATTENTION FIRST LUTHERAN AND ALL PARISH FOLKS: The ladies at First Lutheran are doing a special holiday food project. If you could please save your stamp cards from County Fair or reward points from Coborns at either Huron or Mitchell (use rewards number 6055272342) then all those points will go to one account for the turkey promotion. These turkeys and also other food items for a holiday dinner will be donated to the Sanborn County food boxes given out at Christmas. The turkey promotion only lasts until Thanksgiving, so please contribute before then. You may bring your stamp cards from County Fair to church by Nov. 18th.

HEY! EVERYONE IN THE PARISH, how would you like to enjoy a production of “Samson” from the Sight and Sound Theatre at Branson, Mo.? On Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2nd at 1:30 pm at First Lutheran you are invited to the viewing of this wonderful movie. Refreshments will be served. Please come for an afternoon of entertainment and fellowship. If you have any questions, call Judy Wormstadt at 527-2342.

Scavenger Hunt Food Drive was a Huge Success

Above is a picture of the food collected during the scavenger hunt food drive today. Thank you to our wonderful church family for their giving hearts! We collected 338 items for a total of 20,975 points.

It was packed and kids had to do quite the yoga moves to get out to eat.

Reminder: Scavenger hunt food drive is this Saturday starting at 9:00 am south of the church and ending in Huron at noon. If you will not be home, but wish to donate let Jodi know. The food pantry is low on juice, pancake mix and syrup. All non-perishable food items are greatly appreciated though!!

Last year, they collected 10,975 scavenger hunt points so they hope to get even more this year. Below is a picture of the tally sheet if you want to see what is worth the most points. If you will not be home, but would like to donate you may leave items at the church or talk to Jodi to make other arrangements. Prayers for Isaac Machtemes Family

Please keep the family of Isaac Machtemes, the students, teachers and staff of Iroquois School and all affected by his death in your prayers.

There will be a visitation from 3:00-7:00 pm with family present from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.

Aubree Brown (Cassidy Wormstadt's daughter) will be baptized this coming Sunday during the 9:30 am service. Plan to attend the service to help celebrate this special day with her and her family.

There will also be a pancake feed fundraiser this Sunday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Iroquois American Legion Hall. The fundraiser will help defray costs of the mission trip that the Area Christian Teens Youth Group took this past June to Minneapolis. Keistan Dubro was one of the youth that were lucky enough to go on this trip.

Immanuel council will be held this Tuesday, September 11th at 8:00 pm.

Confirmation begins this week! Schedule for September is as follows:
September 12 - 6:30 pm @ First
September 19 - 6:30 pm @ Trinity
September 26 - 6:30 pm @ Immanuel

There will be an information meeting for the National Youth Gathering on Sunday, September 16 at 4:00 pm at Trinity. Those interested in going and who are currently in grades 6-10 should come. We will go over a rough itinerary from this year's gathering to give you an idea of what happens, get a feel for what a cost would look like per person and talk about fundraisers. Anyone interested in chaperoning should also come. **Coming to this meeting WILL NOT mean you have to go and missing it WILL NOT mean you can't go.** It is simply an info meeting to see if people are interested and what we need to plan for. Chips, salsa and something sweet will be offered!

Unity Service on Sunday

There will be practice for the Unity choir at 9:00 am Sunday morning, prior to the service, to run through the song a few times. If you have not been to any of the practices you are still welcome to join in!!

The Parish Unity Service will be this Sunday, August 26th at Trinity Lutheran this year. The service will be at 9:30 am with a brunch following. There will be a guest speaker, Rev. Doug Rokke, who will join us for the service. Jensina will also be baptized during this special service.

Miss SD Carrie Wintle's Trunk Show

Our very own Carrie Wintle will be representing South Dakota at the Miss America pageant, on September 9th, in Atlantic City. There will be a trunk show/send-off party for Carrie on Sunday, August 19th at the Huron Country Club from 7:00-8:30 pm. The donations from the event will benefit the Miss South Dakota organization and Children's Miracle Network. Make plans to attend to show her support on this great adventure and how proud her church family is of her accomplishments!

Parish Unity Service will be on August 26th at Trinity Lutheran this year. The service will be at 9:30 am with a brunch following. There will be a guest speaker, Rev. Doug Rokke, who will join us for the service.

Unity Choir - If anyone is interested in being a part of the Unity Choir for this year's service, we will be singing Hymn #374 and perhaps one other hymn. Let Pastor Josh or Marti know if you are interested in singing. Lip syncers are welcome!!!

Ruth Circle will be hosted by Mona at the church on Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Be sure to bring your new lesson book.

Reminder: Immanuel VBS will be held June 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and June 8th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with the program the night of the 8th...more details to come!

Please let Jodi know by May 27th if your kids/grandkids/friends will be able to join us!!

Kids (& adults) need to bring sack lunches for supper on Thursday night and dinner on Friday. We will also be making shirts again (adults too) so will need to bring a white shirt or tank top!!
