It may not have been Christmas Eve, but this morning in church it felt like it, thanks to those who helped with the Christmas program. The youth did a wonderful job as always! Also, thank you to those who donated the candy, peanuts, and apples for the peanut bags. There are peanut bags left so be sure to grab a few next week! 

Next week service will be Saturday night at 6:00 with a potluck to follow.

 Ruth Circle will meet Wednesday, 11/8, @ 7 pm @ the church.

Saturday Night Service Tomorrow Night

Saturday night service tomorrow night at 6:00.The Prairie Praise Band will help lead the service and communion will be served. Potluck supper to follow.

Immanuel Saturday night services begin this coming Saturday at 6:00 pm with a potluck to follow.

Parish Council Meeting is set for Wednesday, November 16th at 7pm at Trinity.

State Planning for Summer 2024

As the temps dip lower, we start preparing for another summer of camp. We are so excited to share Christ's love in community and creation at Outlaw Ranch, Klein Ranch and NeSoDak in the 2024 Summer Camp Season. Summer 2024 registration goes live at 8am on November 13th. Mark your calendars now. We can't wait to welcome you to the camps of Lutherans Outdoors next summer.

 There will be no church service at Immanuel on Sunday, September 3rd. There will be many members unable to attend and the supply pastor would need to leave Sioux Falls very early to get to Immanuel by 8:00 am

Please keep Glen Palmquist, Glenda (Zeeck) Palmquist’s husband, and their family in your prayers. He was taken to the Huron ER yesterday with pneumonia, kidney failure and sepsis. He was flown to Sioux Falls and is on dialysis. 

Birthday Supply Kits - The Banquet

 

I just wanted to share with all of you, that yesterday while my girls and I, along with my sisters and friends were serving at the Banquet in Sioux Falls that we were shouted out for all the Birthday Cake Supply Kits that we donated this spring. The guy doing the tour did not remember that it was us, hundreds of people come through those doors every day. He was giving us the whole speech about what all they offer at the Banquet and he asked if anyone knew where Iroquois was. So, of course, we all did and he continued to say we had a church group from Iroquois donate 48 birthday supply kits and how they came up with the best idea to use a can of pop instead of eggs and oil. He said they never thought of them not having oil and an egg, so the next time someone came in for a kit he asked if they had eggs or oil and they of course said no. So now all their kits include a can of pop!! He even baked a cake the next day just to try it and he said it worked great! My sister, did point out my girls and I then and he said that we are in his speech every day when he gives a tour to the volunteers. 

So long story short, our small church family’s small act of kindness with one simple gift has made a difference for so  many!! Our hearts are full and I hope yours is too!!

Immanuel Womens’ Bible Study

The Bible study that all Immanuel women are invited to participate in will begin with a study book called “Be Still & Know, A study of Rest & Refuge”.  The books will be under $20 and should last at least 2 years of study. Please let Susan Johannsen know if interested before Father's Day and she will also collect $20 with any leftover postage $$ going into the WELCA kitty.  It looks like a great study of Psalm 26 & women of the Bible.

Immanuel Circle to Meet May 17th

 All Immanuel women are invited to circle that will be held at the church at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17th. Will go over the last lesson in the book together, discuss new books for next time and missions.

Due to forecasted weather, Gladly Button’s memorial service for Saturday is being postponed until Monday, April 3. Visitation will be held at 1:30, celebration of life service at 2:30 and meal/fellowship to follow at Trinity.
