Bethany Lutheran WELCA (Howard) is hosting a salad luncheon on Wednesday, June 22nd at 6:00 pm. Come and enjoy an evening of good food and fellowship with other from your community and surrounding area. Free will offering/donations will be taken to help fund Church on the Street in Sioux Falls. Following the meal Chris Matson from Church on the Street will share the story of their mission.

2022 WELCA Synodical meeting will be held June 23 (2-7 pm) and June 24 (9am-4pm) at First Lutheran in Brookings. The state WELCA board has a wonderful event planned. Registration is $45.  Communion - Going forward we will be having communion the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month (plus any special church festivals) instead of every Sunday.

Rev. Allen Brakke will be providing pulpit supply for us each Sunday beginning May 15th for atleast one year or until we call a permanent pastor. Please notify your council or Dawn of those who should be receiving visits. He is available for weddings and funerals as needed. Rev. Brakke (Pastor Al) has mentioned he will be available 24/7 for any emergencies that may require a late night visit to a hospital or bedside. We appreciate his willingness to serve our parish and hold him up in our prayers.

Immanuel Vacation Bible School will be held from 6:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, June 1 and 10:00am-2:00pm on Thursday, June 2 with the program on Thursday night at 7:30. Please let Jodi know by May 22nd if your kids/grandkids/friends will be able to join us!! Kids (& adults) need to bring sack lunches for supper on Wednesday night and dinner on Thursday. More details to come soon!

Interim Pastor

Parish council met on May 2nd and the Synod and the Bishop have agreed to allow Allan Brakke to be our interim pastor and he is willing to sign a contract for one year. He was at the meeting and said he would be on call 24/7, whenever he is needed. He plans to do visitations once a month and would like names, address and phone numbers for whoever you wish him to visit.

It was agreed for all churches to have communion twice a month at the 2nd & 4th Sundays. Pastor Allan will also be at the congregation council meetings so he has more involvement with our separate churches.

Pastor Allan's wages will be $325 a week for all 3 services plus mileage, $20 for visitation, $175 for weddings and funerals with mileage for each of his trips. The Synod mileage rate is 58.5 cents a mile. He said he didn't need any benefits as he has his own insurance.

The Parish council agreed we are thankful for Pastor Allan's commitment to our churches.
