Prayers for Glen Palmquist

Please keep Glen Palmquist, Glenda (Zeeck) Palmquist’s husband, and their family in your prayers. He was taken to the Huron ER yesterday with pneumonia, kidney failure and sepsis. He was flown to Sioux Falls and is on dialysis. 

Birthday Supply Kits - The Banquet

 

I just wanted to share with all of you, that yesterday while my girls and I, along with my sisters and friends were serving at the Banquet in Sioux Falls that we were shouted out for all the Birthday Cake Supply Kits that we donated this spring. The guy doing the tour did not remember that it was us, hundreds of people come through those doors every day. He was giving us the whole speech about what all they offer at the Banquet and he asked if anyone knew where Iroquois was. So, of course, we all did and he continued to say we had a church group from Iroquois donate 48 birthday supply kits and how they came up with the best idea to use a can of pop instead of eggs and oil. He said they never thought of them not having oil and an egg, so the next time someone came in for a kit he asked if they had eggs or oil and they of course said no. So now all their kits include a can of pop!! He even baked a cake the next day just to try it and he said it worked great! My sister, did point out my girls and I then and he said that we are in his speech every day when he gives a tour to the volunteers. 

So long story short, our small church family’s small act of kindness with one simple gift has made a difference for so  many!! Our hearts are full and I hope yours is too!!

Immanuel Womens’ Bible Study

The Bible study that all Immanuel women are invited to participate in will begin with a study book called “Be Still & Know, A study of Rest & Refuge”.  The books will be under $20 and should last at least 2 years of study. Please let Susan Johannsen know if interested before Father's Day and she will also collect $20 with any leftover postage $$ going into the WELCA kitty.  It looks like a great study of Psalm 26 & women of the Bible.

Immanuel Circle to Meet May 17th

 All Immanuel women are invited to circle that will be held at the church at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17th. Will go over the last lesson in the book together, discuss new books for next time and missions.
