Angel Tree Gifts & Announcements

On Friday, Sunday School children and their parents from Immanuel Lutheran, rural Iroquois, purchased items for kids on the Salvation Army Angel Tree. The Sunday School children asked the congregation for donations and since they were so generous, they were each able to adopt an angel that was their age and purchase a gift for them. The kids had so much fun picking out presents and learned how important giving to others was! After shopping, they enjoyed supper together and then went caroling at StoneyBrook Suites Assisted Living and to a couple of our elderly church members’ houses. This morning, they got to show & tell the congregation what they purchased for their angel before delivering the presents. They cannot wait until next year to do it again. THANK YOU FOR DONATING!!!!

Thank You for Donating to Food Drive

Reminder: Sunday School is at 5:00 and Church is at 6:00 tonight!!

THANK YOU FOR DONATING!

What an amazing night...so many generous friends! We started around 4:30 east of the church and 80+ miles later we finished in Huron around 7:00. We received donations from over 30 families and everyone was so generous! The food pantry was very excited to receive all of our donations. After we unloaded all the food they showed us where all the food is stored and what goes into each basket that is given to the families. Each basket is supposed to last them two months. They also told us that after Christmas the donations will slow down and they will need a lot of donations in June and July because their supply will be very low!

They were as follows: 11 soups, 12 cans of fruit, 78 vegetables, 5 canned meat, 4 tuna/herring, 6 bottles of honey, 1 peanut butter, 3 oatmeals, 4 cereals, 22 rice & pastas, 1 instant potato, 6 rice-a-roni, 4 macaroni & cheese, 1 hamburger helper, 6 stuffing mixes, 1 box of broth, 1 spaghetti sauce, 1 ramen noodle, 1 hot cocoa, 1 package of coffee filters, 2 turkeys, 1 gravy, 2 cornbread mixes, 4 cake mixes, 2 pizza crust mixes, 1 package toilet paper, 1 package paper towels, 1 package of sliced meat, 1 jar of minced meat, 3 zebra cakes, 1 jar jalapeno peppers, 4 bags of candy, 1 marshmallow, 1 package cookies, 1 pudding, 1 popcorn, 1 apple pie kit and 3 boxes of granola bars. They collected 198 items to earn a total of 10,675 scavenger hunt points (a little less than last year) but are challenging themselves to beat it next year & to collect food this summer for the food pantry!

Thank you,
Lauren, Tessah, Katie, Lexi, Kelby, Jodi & Stephanie
