The Sunday School kids want to adopt angels from the Angel Tree
again this year! If you would like to donate money to help purchase gifts you can give it to Jodi. We are hoping
that each kid will be able to adopt two angels! We will be taking all the
kids shopping on Saturday, December 10th
to purchase the gifts and they will show everyone at church that
following Sunday what they picked out for their angel before delivering
the gifts. We also applied for Thrivent Action Team dollars so will be
receiving $250.00 to help purchase gifts. We hope that we will be able
to buy twice as many gifts this year! After shopping we will be going to
Godfather's for dinenr and
then Christmas Caroling. We will be meeting at 9:30 am inside the Huron Walmart Pharmacy doors to shop, will eat at Godfather's at 11:00 (room is reserved) and then Christmas carol at Stoneybrook Suites at noon followed by caroling at Armand & Lenora's and Velda's. Everyone is welcome to join us on this fun adventure for just a part or all of it...you won't regret joining us!! Feel free to contact Jodi if you have

Scavenger Hunt Food Drive - THANK YOU!!!
Kelby, Lexi, Kali, Kera, Kenna, Katie & Wyatt |
What an
amazing night...so many generous friends! We started around 4:30 north of the
church and 80+ miles later we finished in Huron around 7:00. We had a yummy supper at Godfather's and then delivered the food at 8:00...they were expecting us! We received
donations from over 30 families and everyone was so generous! They told us that we collected more food than most of the in town food
drives collect...so they were super excited and made the kids super
excited too! After unloading the items they gave us a tour of the Salvation Army and we got to see all of the food in the food pantry & freezers. They also explained how they distribute the food that they receive.
They
were as follows: 15 soups, 2 cans of fruit, 68 cans of vegetables, 35 cans of
meat/beef stew, 5 cans tuna, 3 spaghetti sauces, 2 boxes of tissues, shampoo and soap, 6 honey, 4 peanut butter, 2 jelly, 7 pancake mixes, 1 syrup, 10
oatmeal, 2 cereals, 2 Jell-o, 1 shredded cheese, 34 boxes stuffing, 12 bags of dry
rice/pasta/beans, 2 dried soup mix, 13 instant potatoes, 3 boxes Rice-a-Roni, 13 macaroni & cheese, 2 Hamburger
Helper, 6 canned milks, 9 cake mixes, 7 flour/sugar/brown sugar, 9 ketchup/mustard/mayo/dressing/bbq, 2 coffees, 1 fruit juice, 8 kool-aid mixes, 1 taco shell, 1 popcorn, 1 candy, 1 fruit, 2 gravy mixes and
$25.00. They collected 264 items (102 more than last year) to earn a total of 12,975 scavenger hunt points,
2,940 more points than last year!! We also applied to be a Thrivent
Action Team and were approved so we will be receiving $250 debit card to
purchase more food items for the food pantry as soon as we receive it!!!

Scavenger Hunt Food Drive
The 4th-7th grade Sunday School students will be doing a scavenger hunt food drive again on Friday, October 28th. We will start at Wintle's around 4:30 pm and will work our
way south around the country and end up in Huron by 7:00 pm. The collected items will be donated to the Salvation Army
Food Pantry. The youth will have a list of items to earn them scavenger hunt
points, but any non-perishable items that you donate will be more than
appreciated. Last year, they collected 10,035 scavenger hunt points so they hope
to get even more this year. If you will not be home, but would like to donate
you may leave items at the church or talk to Jodi to make other arrangements.
Also, if you know you will not be home please let Jodi know so we do not stop at your house.
